Our favorite way to wake up in the morning is with a big cup of coffee and something sweet and carb to eat with it. But many of the standard choices leave something to be desired. Have biscotti – they’re delicious when dunked, but if you just want to have a bite of something alongside your coffee, you’ll need a different treat, as they can be so tough they’ll break you the teeth. Then there are the scones. Sure, you can eat a scone on its own, but don’t dare dunk it, unless you want the bottom of your coffee cup filled with soggy crumbs. Luckily, the geniuses in Costco’s baking department have done it again. They invented bisconies, which offer the best of both worlds when it comes to breakfast pastries, and according to online reviews, they are totally worth the price of a Costco membership.
The treats in question are the chain’s Miniature Cranberry Orange Bisconies. You can get a pack of these for $5.99 in the Costco bakery section if you have a subscription. Unlike scones, they won’t crumble if you look at them the wrong way, and unlike biscotti, they’re soft and chewy right out of the package. You can dunk them in your coffee without risking a swamp of crumbs, and you can chew them right out of the package without having to consult a dental professional first.
CostcoFoodComments, a TikTok account that tries every item at Costco, gave the bisconies a 9 out of 10, and people on Reddit seem to like these baked goods too. One person described them as “Cross a scone with a super thick chewy cookie…The flavor is great and the texture is so satisfying.” Many people have said that for the best experience the cookies should be microwaved for a few seconds until piping hot. You could probably use the air fryer too.
Will you be able to find mini orange and cranberry bisconies at your Costco? It’s a good question. According to one person on the Costco subreddit“these are seasonal/limited items”, although they said they were “”limited”, as businesses can randomly decide they want to pick them up anytime during the rest of the year.
We don’t even know how anyone could even start trying to make a scone-biscotti hybrid from scratch, so if you figure it out, let us know – that way we can all enjoy biscones anytime we want. year, not just when Costco’s corporate lords decide we’ve been good little farmers and deserve breakfast again.
