What could be better on a day off than a leisurely and delicious lunch accompanied by great jazz from a famous pianist?
That’s exactly what happens at the beautiful Iford Mansion near Freshford, a few miles from Bath.
Iford has always been famous for music and the arts, and used to have live opera and jazz in the gardens.

Resident pianist David Newton, 16-time winner of the Best Pianist award at the British Jazz Awards, has hosted a wonderful series of jazz matinees which will resume in February, a great way to keep the winter blues away.
You can enjoy a super menu, ideal for a Sunday, which includes absolutely delicious cakes and pastries from the famous Bertinet Bakery in Bath.
There’s also granola, salmon bagel and a delicious stack of pancakes with smoked Wiltshire bacon, seasonal berries, maple syrup and mint.

It’s a lovely drive to Iford Manor, not too far and a great way to start your Sunday.
Executive Chef Jaq Brewer is doing big things with food at this grand, historic house and gardens and hosting a series of supper clubs that start again in February.
Each supper club will offer a menu themed around a specific country or region, details of the fixed menus for each evening will be made available in the evening.
Supper clubs at £60 per person are becoming very popular and should be booked early.
The Iford Manor cafe is open weekends only in January but is expected to resume full service in February and spring.
There’s a lot going on in Iford, a great little hamlet not far from Bath and easily accessible from anywhere in Somerset.
The gardens are well worth a visit for anyone wanting inspiration for spring, they are truly spectacular and are constantly being worked on and changed.
