If you’re like us, you love products that offer both utility and visual appeal. While it’s fairly simple to find such items for bedrooms and bathrooms, discovering stylish yet useful kitchen gadgets can be a beast. But thanks to Great Jones, that doesn’t have to be the case anymore.
For those who haven’t heard of Insta’s famous cookware brand, Great Jones is a direct-to-consumer line of cookware (meaning they don’t rely on third-party merchants and are not they ship to you directly from their warehouse) which launched in 2018. The brand’s goal? Offering cute yet affordable alternatives to brands like Staub and Le Creuset; to launch multi-purpose cookware that shoppers would happily prepare a meal with just as they would leave it on their stovetop.
Since 2018, the Great Jones collection has expanded to include cookware, bakeware, accessories and complete sets. Ahead, find out which of the “affordable luxury cookware” items are actually worth the hype (in our opinion, of course).
The best Great Jones products, hands down
Great Jones, the Dutchwoman – $160.00
A fraction of the price of Le Creuset and Staub Dutch ovens, this ovular beauty is a must-have for any home chef looking for a wallet-friendly option that’s just as (if not, in our opinion, even more) gorgeous. . The 6.75-quart Dutch oven (which, BTW, weighs 15 pounds) is made of enameled cast iron to provide cooks with consistent temperatures and nonstick cooking. As someone who uses theirs every week, I can attest to how remarkable this beautiful cookware set is. (It also doesn’t hurt that it’s sold in seven pretty matte colors.)
Great Jones, Dutch Baby – $120.00
While cooking with The Dutchess is a joy, there are quite a few leftovers when cooking for one. With that in mind, the Great Jones Dutch Baby, the brand’s 3.5-quart Dutch oven, is a great option for those cooking for themselves (or for two). Like The Dutchess, this smaller Dutchie is made of enameled cast iron, although it is only sold in four colors. (But hello, Taffy! Who doesn’t love a pink Dutch oven?)
Great Jones, the hot dish – $75.00
When people cook casseroles, it’s often for potlucks or vacations. And, often, the goal is to make a good impression. While a delicious recipe is the most important aspect of a tasty casserole, the cookware it’s cooked in doesn’t hurt, unless, of course, it’s weathered and uninspired. The 9×13 Great Jones Hot Dish, which is sold in four colors, is anything but. Designed with a vintage arched stripe trim, this ceramic dish will add an elegant element to any spread. Our trade editor can attest that it was a show stopper over Thanksgiving, which she hosted. (The green bean casserole was pretty good too.)
Great Jones Cast Iron Skillet, King Sear — $110.00
Cast iron is a staple in any kitchen looking to achieve maximum flavor with little effort. Since most cast iron pans are jet black, Great Jones saw an opportunity to debut color coated exteriors to provide a bit more pizzazz while cooking. Plus, the King Sear is pre-treated, so you don’t have to worry about this often dreaded process. Remember, as with any cast iron, you should not use soap to wash this lovely skillet.
Great Jones, Big Deal Stockpot – $115.00
Whether you like to cook pasta or want to boil shrimp, you’ll be happy to have the Great Jones Big Deal Stock Pot on hand. The fully-lined 8-quart stainless steel stockpot is designed to maintain consistent heat for fast boiling and streamlined cooking times.
Great Jones, Holy Sheet Pan – $40.00
If you love to cook, you’ll love the Great Jones Holy Sheet Pan, which comes in three vibrant shades. The half-size baking tray features a non-stick ceramic coating that makes it easy to bake perfectly crispy, never-burnt cookies. Of course, you can also use it to cook oven-roasted potatoes, slices of garlic bread, etc.
Great Jones, Sweetie Pie Pie Dish – $40.00
Just like The Hot Dish, the Great Jones Sweetie Pie Pie Dish takes something delicious and makes it even better. This ceramic pie dish is designed with the same arched striped border that adds an instant accent to any table. From a logistical point of view, it is oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe, so it is also a practical cooking utensil.
