OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) – Owning a business is part of the American dream for many.
A young woman has made many dreams come true. She met the love of her life on a trip to Florida from Israel, married him, moved to Omaha, and now owns her own business making delicious pastries.
All this at only 25 years old.
âThroughout my life I was like I wanted to be independent,â said Yuvi Kolbar. “I want to do something that I love, and I want to be responsible for my own things and do what I want.”
Kolbar wasted no time in making his dreams come true. She started cooking at home and in less than six months she has already found a professional kitchen to cook on and grow her business.
âI can take care of the shipping and I can do the catering now,â she said.
Kolbar doesn’t make your average cookies and muffins. She loves to cook dishes that make you feel like you’ve traveled to Europe or elsewhere.
âThe cookie pizza is actually a giant chocolate chip cookie, 10 inches, and super soft and crisp on the outside,â she said. “Then you can choose up to three toppings like M & M’s. The Amsterdam cookie is a dark chocolate cookie, and I fill it with Nutella.”
Kolbar also makes shot glass shaped chocolate chip cookies where customers can add a personalized label.
âIt’s a chocolate chip cookie with a dark chocolate inner layer and you can fill it with ice cream, coffee, milk,â she said.
She makes lots of creative items, including gluten-free, sugar-free, and vegan treats.
âI plan to have different desserts, which you can hardly find here, and different flavors, and a different experience,â Kolbar said. “I feel like if you are different you have to use it and you have to show this.”
Currently, you can find Yuvi Bakery at the Old Market and Aksarben Farmers Markets on Saturdays and Sundays.
You can also place orders on its website. She makes local deliveries and is now able to ship nationwide.
“I really believe that if you love something, and go through with it, and do it everyday and are consistent and believe in yourself and the way you do it, you will be successful. , “Kolbar said. “There is no other chance.”
Kolbar’s dream is to one day open his own bakery and continue to make creative and delicious treats.
