New York – March 10, 2022 – Award-winning pastry chef Stephanie Boswell shares his years of experience and expertise with failing bakery owners to help save real struggling businesses on the new series Bake or break, premiering on Food Network and Discovery+ on Monday, April 11and to 10 p.m. ET/PT. In each of the four hour-long episodes, Stephanie and her team focus on a broken bakery and figure out how to completely revamp their business. To keep these baked goods from bleeding cash, she must refresh stale recipes and revamp seedy display cases, with HGTV designers Lauren Makk and Bregan Jane, to bring customers back to the door. Stephanie doesn’t sugarcoat the bakery owners’ truth as she diagnoses their problems. But with her sharp eyes, razor-sharp wit, and loving compassion, Stephanie can turn those dilapidated patisseries and burnt-out bakeries into sparkling showrooms filled with delicious sweets and bright, glowing desserts.

In the first episode, Stephanie travels to Flint, MI for The Cookie Jar. Owner Teressa Morris has poured every penny she has into her bakery and is struggling to keep the lights on. His Million Dollar Cookies are epic, but one hit menu item isn’t enough to keep it going. Stephanie teaches Teressa how to capitalize on her signature cookie to expand her menu and generate new revenue streams. Stephanie restores more than the bakery, as she instills confidence in Teressa to be a stronger leader.

Later in the season, the third-generation Los Angeles family bakery, 27and Street Bakery desperately needs Stephanie’s help. Owner and Olympic gold medalist Jeanette Bolden Pickens and her family have been baking mouth-watering pies for almost 100 years, but for the bakery to survive she must renovate the space and bring more flavor to the menu to attract passing customers. . Stephanie also uses her expertise to help a crumbling Greek bakery owned by a molecular geneticist that’s losing over $60,000 a year, and a pastry shop whose one-time orders of overdone celebrity cakes can’t sustain the business.
