The Delicious Bites, a storefront selling take-out wraps, salads, soups and baked goods, is slated for East Tosa.

It could open at 6538 W. North Ave. as early as early December, said Tomira White, who operates the business with her husband, Corey White, and their son, Drew.

Delicious Bites menu items and gift boxes have so far been available as a pre-order catering and mobile sale through its website, thedeliciousbites.com. Her base for cooking is Upstart Kitchen, a commercial kitchen space for entrepreneurs at 4323 W. Fond du Lac Ave.

Tosa’s storefront is said to have coolers with fresh salads, wraps, and soups, including the company’s popular grilled chicken pita and jerk salmon salads. There would have been baked goods such as chocolate chip, oatmeal, cranberry and peanut butter cookies, banana bread and Red Velvet cupcakes.

The Grilled Chicken Pita Wrap is one of the take-out items to stock at Delicious Bites, a storefront that is planning to open in East Tosa.

There will also be coffee and tea. The operation is primarily take-out, but the store will have a few window seats, said Tomira White.

The Delicious Bites also plans to have family meals to reheat at home to order in advance or for drop-in customers at the store.

White said she hopes to eventually have hot, ready-to-eat daily specials available.

Besides baking and cooking for Delicious Bites, White designs jewelry and other fashion items. She is one of the four associates who opened the Bronzeville collective at 339 W. North Ave., which sells the work of more than two dozen local artists and entrepreneurs.

“I do everything about food and fashion,” she said.

To introduce the store to the neighborhood, the Delicious Bites will be handing out treats during Halloween hours from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on October 31 or while supplies last.

The East Tosa location, where Delicious Bites plan to open previously, previously housed Gourmet chocolate makers. According to Julie Waterman, co-owner of Indulgence, the company closed the storefront in June in anticipation of its new location in the west at the corners of Brookfield. This store is expected to open in November.
